Deploy the add-ins for your organization
A Microsoft 365 admin can install the AutomaDoc add-ins for the whole organization, or for chosen people, from the Microsoft 365 admin center. Microsoft calls this centralized deployment: nobody has to look for the add-in, and the AutomaDoc button appears on their Home tab by itself.
Each add-in is described by a small file, its manifest. Download it, or use its address:
- Excel add-in:
https://office.automadoc.cc/manifests/automadoc-excel.xml - Word add-in:
https://office.automadoc.cc/manifests/automadoc-word.xml
The Integrations page of the Company Portal offers the same files under Deploy for your organization.
Deploy for everyone (Microsoft 365 admin)
Section titled “Deploy for everyone (Microsoft 365 admin)”- Open the Microsoft 365 admin center and go to Settings → Integrated apps.
- Select Upload custom apps.
- As the app type, choose Office Add-in. Then either upload the manifest file you downloaded, or choose to provide a link to the manifest file and paste its address. Validate it and continue.
- Choose who gets it: just you, the entire organization, or specific users and groups. Start with yourself or a small group if you want to check it first.
- Accept the permissions the add-in asks for, and finish the deployment.
Microsoft says it can take up to 24 hours for the add-in to appear for everyone. The people you chose do not need to install anything. Excel and Word are two add-ins: deploy each one you want.
Deploying an add-in does not approve AutomaDoc’s access to data. If your organization lets only admins approve apps, approve AutomaDoc as well, in one click: see Admin consent for Microsoft 365.
To remove an add-in, open it under Integrated apps and remove it.
Try it yourself first
Section titled “Try it yourself first”Anyone can add an add-in for themselves in Office on the web, to try it before asking their IT admin:
- Download the manifest above.
- Open a workbook in Excel on the web (or a document in Word on the web).
- Select Home → Add-ins → More Add-ins.
- On the My Add-ins tab, select Upload My Add-in, choose the file and upload it.
The add-in opens right away. It is added for you only, in that browser, and you may have to add it again after clearing your browser data. If your organization has turned off uploading add-ins, only an admin can deploy it. On Windows and Mac, use the deployment above.
Then see Excel add-in and Word add-in.
